Life Changing Internships.

 

Internship opportunities

Mile High Behavioral Healthcare accepts interns who partner with our staff to make a difference in the community. Join a robust nonprofit organization with a mission to provide a caring, seamless continuum of behavioral healthcare to those in need. Internships range from clinical, human services, marketing, development, and more. College credit and, more significant, experiences that are Life Changing for you and the individuals impacted by the programs and services at Mile High Behavioral Healthcare.

We are currently accepting applications for the following internships:
Social Work: pursuing or already has a master’s degree
Counseling: must be pursuing a master’s degree
Corporate Partnerships: must be pursuing a bachelor’s or already have a degree.

PROGRAMS & DEPARTMENS ACCEPTING YEAR-ROUND INTERN APPLICATIONS

  • Intake—providers completing intakes, assessments and diagnoses, and connecting clients to treatment.

  • Development—building relationships, fundraising, and bringing more awareness to Mile High Behavioral Healthcare

  • Shelter services—for those individuals experiencing homelessness located in the MHBHC Comitis Crisis Center and Aurora Day Resource Center

  • HIV Testing: a team of providers who test clients for HIV, provide referral to care, crisis management, and support for newly diagnosed.

  • Miracles—outpatient substance use and mental health treatment program for women and by women

  • Court 2 community—outpatient substance use and mental health treatment program for individuals on probation, parole, or meeting DUI requirements

  • Climbing to the Stars—substance use and mental health treatment program for young adults, who also experience housing issues

  • Denver Element—outpatient substance use and mental health program for LGBTQIA+ individuals, and those living with HIV

  • Transgender Center of the Rockies—outpatient substance use and mental health treatment program for transgender and gender-expansive identified individuals

  • Youth Services/Colfax Community Network—improving and strengthening family and community life of the individuals, families and children living in the transient house, primarily along Colfax Avenue.
