For over 54 years, the Mile High Council has been specializing in substance use treatment. We have evolved into a place that meets the needs of the “whole person.” What does that mean? It means that someone struggling with addiction may also need housing and employment to move toward recovery and stability. It means that a HIV-positive man may be in need of counseling and a connection to community to fight off feelings of isolation and depression. It means that moving a person from a shelter into a home may not be very effective without first providing financial literacy counseling. Individuals have complex needs. The care that we provide in meeting those needs has always been there, and is now better reflected in our new identity. Mile High Behavioral Healthcare. Life changing.
